Description
Hailea V30 Air Pump 30 L/min is a compact, energy-efficient single or dual-outlet air pump that we have been supplying to UK hydroponic growers since 2017 for oxygenating small to medium reservoirs, DWC buckets and hydroponic tanks. Maintaining dissolved oxygen above 7 mg/L in your nutrient solution is essential for healthy root function, aerobic beneficial bacteria activity and the suppression of anaerobic pathogens including Pythium. The V30 delivers a consistent 30 litres per minute of airflow — sufficient for reservoirs up to approximately 120 litres when paired with quality air stones.
Where the Hailea V30 Fits in Your Hydroponic Setup
The V30 sits between entry-level aquarium pumps and the larger V60 in the Hailea range, making it the ideal choice for hobbyist DWC grows with 1–4 buckets, small recirculating reservoirs in 1.2m grow tents, and any system where a quiet, compact air pump with meaningful output is required. The electromagnetic diaphragm mechanism produces airflow without a rotary motor, meaning the V30 runs quieter and cooler than oil-less piston compressors of equivalent output. It is designed for continuous 24-hour operation and requires no lubrication or regular servicing beyond occasional air stone replacement. The dual-outlet configuration (where specified) allows two separate air stone lines to be run simultaneously from a single unit, ideal for DWC systems with multiple buckets or reservoirs with large surface areas requiring coverage at more than one point.
Setup and Maintenance Tips
Always position the pump above reservoir water level and install non-return valves on the air outlet lines to prevent back-siphon during power interruptions. Connect to standard 4mm or 6mm air tubing and place air stones on the reservoir floor for maximum water column oxygenation. Replace air stones every 3–6 months as calcium deposits restrict output. For larger DWC systems or reservoirs above 150 litres, step up to the Hailea V60 for 60 L/min output. Pair with a Newa Therm reservoir heater to maintain both temperature and dissolved oxygen at optimal levels year-round.
