INSULATED DUCTING 125MM (5″)

Description

Insulated Ducting 125mm (5″) is acoustically and thermally insulated flexible duct for grow room extraction systems in the 125mm diameter commonly used with compact inline fans for medium-sized grow tents and enclosed growing spaces. We have been supplying insulated ducting to UK growers since 2017 as part of our comprehensive range of ventilation components for serious indoor cultivation environments where noise control is a priority.

Noise-Reduced Extraction for 125mm Fan Systems

The 125mm diameter is one of the most widely used extraction sizes for grow tents from 1m x 1m to 1.5m x 1.5m, used with compact RVK, Isomax or equivalent inline fans in the 200–400 m³/hr airflow range. Standard bare aluminium flexible ducting at this size transmits fan noise and airflow turbulence readily through its thin wall, which can be particularly audible in small, enclosed growing spaces or domestic environments where the ducting runs near living areas.

The insulated version wraps the aluminium inner duct in a mineral wool or foam acoustic layer, absorbing and damping the structural sound transmission through the duct wall without reducing internal diameter or airflow capacity. The result is a meaningfully quieter extraction system at the same airflow performance as the non-insulated equivalent — worth the modest additional cost for any installation where noise management is important.

Installation and Sizing

Connect to 125mm fan flanges and carbon filter collars using Fast Clamp connectors. Seal all joints with aluminium tape for an airtight installation. Keep bends minimal and secure horizontal runs to prevent sagging. Compatible with all 125mm diameter ventilation components in our extraction range.
