Description

Irrigation Tee is a three-way push-fit connector used to branch 4mm micro-irrigation tubing runs in hydroponic dripper systems, allowing a single supply line to split into two directions simultaneously. We have been supplying irrigation fittings to UK hydroponic growers since 2017 as the practical small components that make flexible, properly designed dripper systems achievable without specialist plumbing knowledge.

Branching Your Irrigation Layout with Tee Fittings

A single straight tubing run can supply only one end point, but real grow rooms rarely have all plants in a straight line from the manifold. Tee fittings allow your irrigation layout to branch and reach every pot in your system efficiently, without requiring a separate dedicated line from the manifold to every single plant position. By combining tee fittings with straight connectors and elbows, you can build an irrigation network that follows the geometry of your actual growing space rather than imposing a rigid linear layout.

Each tee creates two separate outlet branches from a single inlet — meaning one supply run can serve two separate plants or pot positions with a single split. For a four-plant system in a square configuration, two tee fittings at appropriate positions in the layout may be sufficient to reach all four plants from a single central manifold connection, keeping the total tubing length and number of fittings to a minimum.

Installation and System Design

Push all three tubing ends firmly onto the barbed ports of the tee fitting until seated. No tools or clamps required for standard operating pressures. When designing your layout, aim for equal tubing lengths from each tee outlet to the next plant position to maintain balanced flow across all branches. For unequal-length runs, install adjustable flow control drippers at each emitter point to compensate for pressure differences.
