The Osram SON-T 150W is a compact high-pressure sodium lamp designed for small-scale growing applications, propagation supplemental lighting, and situations where the full output of a 400W or 600W HPS system would be excessive — including closet grows, single-plant setups, and supplemental lighting in large rooms or greenhouses. As a professional SON-T grade product from Osram, it delivers the same high-quality HPS spectral output and reliability as the larger Plantastar range in a lower-wattage format.

The SON-T designation indicates a standard high-pressure sodium lamp optimised for general luminous efficacy, with the characteristic warm orange-red spectrum that has driven commercial horticulture and indoor growing for decades. At 150W, the lamp generates substantially less heat than larger HPS options, making it suitable for small, enclosed growing spaces where heat management is a limiting constraint.

The 150W SON-T requires a compatible 150W HPS ballast — not all ballasts accept 150W, so verify compatibility before purchase. It fits standard E40 mogul base lamp holders and is suitable for use in all closed and open reflector types rated for 150W operation. Replace after 18 months of regular use to maintain acceptable light output levels.
