Description
The Phresh Intake Filter 200 x 400 is a large-format passive intake filter designed to clean incoming air entering your grow room through the passive intake ports, removing dust, insects, spores, and airborne particulates before they can enter your growing environment. Keeping incoming air clean is a critical but often overlooked aspect of indoor growing hygiene. Every cubic metre of air drawn into your grow room by the extraction system carries whatever is present in the surrounding environment — including fungal spores, pest eggs, dust, and particulates that can contaminate your growing space and damage crops.
Why Intake Filtration Matters
Growers invest significantly in carbon filtration for their exhaust air — the CAN-Filters and CAN-Lites that prevent odours from escaping the growing space. Far fewer invest in intake air filtration, yet the incoming air is where many crop problems originate. Botrytis spores, powdery mildew, spider mite eggs, fungus gnat larvae in soil particles — all of these can enter through unfiltered intake ports and establish in what appears to be a clean and controlled growing environment. The Phresh Intake Filter covers the intake port and passes incoming air through a filtration medium that captures particles above a defined size threshold. This is not a carbon filter — it does not remove gases or odours. It is a mechanical particulate filter that stops solid and biological contaminants from entering the intake air stream. At The Horticulture Company we recommend Phresh Intake Filters as part of a complete environmental management system, particularly for growers in areas with high ambient dust, pollen, or spore loads.
200 x 400mm Format and Installation
The 200 x 400mm format covers the large passive intake ports found in most medium to large grow tents. The filter velcros or fits directly over the intake vent, with the filtration medium facing the incoming airflow direction. Replace the filter medium when it becomes visibly clogged or when incoming airflow through the intake port noticeably reduces. In high-particulate environments, replace more frequently to maintain adequate intake airflow volume.
