Description
The CAN-Filter Inline Filter is the professional standard for carbon filtration in indoor growing environments. CAN-Filter originated the carbon air filter category for the cultivation industry and has continued to set the benchmark for activated carbon quality, airflow efficiency, and filter longevity. This inline format sits within your ducting run, between the grow room and the outlet fan, giving you maximum odour and particulate control with a clean, space-efficient installation.
The Carbon Quality That Sets CAN-Filter Apart
The key to any carbon filter’s performance is the quality and surface area of the activated carbon it contains. CAN-Filter uses RC412 activated carbon — a virgin carbon sourced from coal with an extremely high surface area of over 1,000 square metres per gram. This large internal surface area means every cubic metre of air passing through the filter has a vast amount of activated carbon to adsorb volatile organic compounds before it exits your grow room. The inline design places the filter within your ducting run rather than on the outlet face of your fan. This configuration reduces mechanical stress on your fan, produces a cleaner air path, and allows the filter to be positioned in the most convenient location within your ducting system. At The Horticulture Company we have stocked CAN-Filter products since we opened in 2017. They are the brand professional growers trust when filtration failure is not an option.
Sizing, Installation, and Lifespan
Selecting the correct CAN-Filter size is critical to performance. The filter’s m³/h rating must match or slightly exceed your fan’s airflow rating. An undersized filter creates back-pressure and reduces airflow efficiency. The inline format allows direct connection to standard ducting sizes — flange dimensions correspond to standard 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 200mm, and 250mm ducting in common use across UK grow rooms. CAN-Filter inline filters typically deliver 12 to 18 months of effective filtration under normal use conditions. Performance begins to degrade as the activated carbon becomes saturated. Replace when you begin to notice breakthrough odours. Using a pre-filter sleeve extends the life of the main carbon bed by capturing dust and particulates before they block the carbon surface.
