Dutch Touch Pro Carbon Filter is a professional-grade activated carbon filter designed to remove plant odours, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and airborne particulates from grow room extraction air. We have been supplying Dutch Touch Pro carbon filters to UK growers since 2017 as a reliable, well-constructed odour control solution for grow rooms of all sizes.

How Carbon Filtration Works in Grow Room Extraction

Activated carbon has an extremely high surface area per gram — a single gram can have a surface area of over 1,000 square metres — created by the network of microscopic pores within the carbon structure. When air containing odour molecules passes through the activated carbon bed, these molecules are adsorbed onto the carbon surface through weak intermolecular forces and are trapped within the porous matrix rather than passing through with the airflow. This adsorption process is highly effective for the organic VOC molecules responsible for plant-derived odours.

The Dutch Touch Pro filter is packed with a high-density activated carbon bed sourced from high-quality carbon feedstock, providing exceptional adsorption capacity and a long service life before the carbon becomes saturated and requires replacement. The pre-filter sleeve around the carbon body removes larger airborne particles before they reach the carbon bed, preventing premature blockage of the filter face and extending service life.

Sizing, Installation and Maintenance

Select the filter diameter and rated airflow (m³/hr) to match your extraction fan. For maximum performance, ensure the filter’s rated airflow meets or slightly exceeds your fan’s output at your operating speed. Connect the carbon filter to your inline fan using standard ducting and Fast Clamp connectors. Mount vertically if possible — horizontal mounting can cause uneven carbon bed loading and reduced filter life.

Replace the outer pre-filter sleeve every six months and the carbon body every 12–18 months under typical growing conditions, or when odour begins to pass through the filter. Pairs with Systemair RVK or Isomax fans, flexible ducting and Fast Clamps for a complete extraction system.
