Description
Phresh Intake Filter 150 x 300mm is a premium activated carbon intake filter designed to scrub pollen, dust, and particulate contaminants from air entering a grow room or sealed growing environment through the fresh air intake duct. We have been recommending Phresh filters to UK growers since 2017 as a high-quality carbon filtration brand known for consistently low pressure drop and long service life, and the intake filter is an often-overlooked component that plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, pest-free, and contaminant-free growing environment.
Why an Intake Carbon Filter Protects Your Grow Room
Most growers install a carbon filter on their exhaust to control odour — but far fewer install one on the intake, leaving the growing environment exposed to whatever the incoming air carries. In urban and suburban environments, intake air contains pollen, fungal spores, dust, and fine particulates that settle on plant surfaces and create the conditions for powdery mildew, fungal disease, and contamination of the growing environment. In areas where outdoor pesticide or herbicide spray drift is possible, intake filtration provides an additional layer of protection against chemical contamination of the crop. The Phresh Intake Filter uses a bed of activated carbon that adsorbs organic contaminants and volatile chemicals from the incoming airstream while the surrounding fabric pre-filter layer captures particulates, pollen, and spores before they reach the fan or the growing space. The 150 x 300mm size provides filtration coverage for 150mm intake systems with a carbon bed volume calibrated for the typical flow rates of standard 150mm intake fans.
How to Install the Phresh Intake Filter 150 x 300mm
Fit the intake filter on the exterior end of your fresh air intake duct — outside the grow room or tent, where incoming air passes through the filter before entering the growing environment. Connect using standard 150mm clamps. The fabric pre-filter on the exterior of the filter housing should be facing the incoming air direction. Replace the pre-filter sleeve every 3–6 months or when visibly clogged with particulate. The carbon media provides effective adsorption for 12 months or more depending on air quality and flow rate. Check airflow through the system after installation to ensure the filter is not creating excessive back pressure on the intake fan.
Pair the Phresh Intake Filter with a matching exhaust carbon filter, inline fan, and environmental controller for a fully filtered, controlled, and clean growing environment. Browse our full Phresh filter range and ventilation accessories for the complete air management system.
