Description

The CarboAir CA50 is a compact carbon filter designed for odour control in smaller grow rooms where effective air filtration is needed without restricting airflow or oversizing the installation. Built around a 50mm bed of virgin granular activated carbon and handmade in Europe, the CA50 is a reliable choice for grow tents and compact grow rooms where the extraction fan handles between 100 and 300 cubic metres per hour. Virgin Granular Activated Carbon for Consistent Filtration

The quality of the carbon inside a filter matters as much as the physical build. CarboAir uses virgin activated granular carbon — carbon that has not been previously used or recycled — which gives maximum adsorption capacity from the first day of use. The 50mm bed depth in the CA50 ensures that air passing through the filter has sufficient contact time with the carbon for VOCs and odour compounds to be fully adsorbed, rather than passing through with minimal contact at high flow rates.

Sizing and Airflow Guidance

The CA50 is sized for extraction fans running between 100 and 300 m³/hr. Using a filter that is significantly undersized for your fan will reduce its service life, as the carbon saturates faster when air is pushed through at too high a velocity. Using a filter slightly larger than required is always preferable — the lower face velocity extends the carbon’s working life considerably.

The CA50 is supplied with a pre-filter sleeve fitted, which catches larger airborne particles and prevents them from prematurely clogging the carbon surface. Replace the pre-filter sleeve every four to six weeks under normal use to maintain airflow efficiency. The main carbon body will typically last one to two full grows before replacement is needed, depending on the environment and load. Handmade in Europe. Supplied with pre-filter sleeve.
