Description

Plagron Alga Grow is an organic vegetative base nutrient from Plagron, derived from seaweed and naturally sourced organic materials to provide biologically mediated nutrition for the vegetative growth stage in soil growing systems. We have been recommending Plagron’s organic nutrient range to UK growers since 2017 as a premium Dutch organic growing programme that delivers excellent vegetative development and the soil life-supporting properties that distinguish organic approaches from synthetic alternatives.

Seaweed-Derived Organic Nutrition for Vegetative Growth

Plagron Alga Grow provides the nitrogen-rich nutrition required for healthy vegetative development through organic seaweed-derived sources supplemented by other plant-based organic compounds. The nitrogen in Alga Grow is primarily in organic form — amino acids and peptides — which are broken down by soil microorganisms into ammonium and nitrate ions available for plant uptake. This biological mediation process releases nitrogen progressively as soil organisms are active, reducing the risk of over-feeding that is more common with immediately available synthetic nitrogen sources.

Beyond nitrogen, the seaweed origin provides a natural complex of trace minerals, vitamins, plant hormones (cytokinins and auxins) and polysaccharides that stimulate root development, improve stress tolerance, and support the health and diversity of the soil microbial community. These biological components make Alga Grow more than a simple nitrogen delivery product — it is a comprehensive biological growing stimulus for the vegetative phase.

Application and Programme Structure

Shake well before use. Apply at the manufacturer’s recommended dose from the start of vegetative growth through to the end of the growth phase. Transition to Plagron Alga Bloom when switching to 12/12 flowering photoperiod. Maintain soil pH at 6.0–6.8 and apply at each watering at a consistent dose rather than increasing concentration beyond the recommended rate.
