RAM 12 Litre Dehumidifier is a compact, grow room-rated dehumidifier that we have been supplying to UK indoor growers since 2017 for maintaining target relative humidity in small to medium-sized grow rooms and grow tents. With a 12-litre-per-day moisture extraction capacity, the RAM 12L is correctly sized for single-tent setups from 1.2m x 1.2m to approximately 2.4m x 1.2m — providing meaningful humidity reduction during the critical late-flowering period when bud density creates internal canopy microclimates with elevated local humidity that encourages Botrytis and powdery mildew.

Managing Humidity in the Final Weeks of Flowering

Relative humidity management becomes critical in the final 3–4 weeks of the flowering cycle. As buds swell and develop the dense internal structure that accumulates resin and terpenes, the spaces between flower tissue become humid micro-environments even when room-average RH appears acceptable. Botrytis cinerea — grey mould — requires only 60%+ localised humidity and minor physical damage (insect feeding, environmental contact) to establish in this warm, moist internal canopy zone. Once established, it spreads rapidly and can destroy a significant portion of a crop in days. Maintaining room-average RH below 45–50% in late flower, combined with good canopy airflow from circulation fans, is the most effective prevention strategy. The RAM 12L’s integrated humidistat maintains your target RH automatically — activating when humidity rises above the set point and switching off when it drops back to target.

Features, Drainage Options and Placement

The RAM 12L features an adjustable humidistat set point, a collection tank for captured water and an optional continuous drain hose connection for hands-free operation when the 12-litre daily extraction rate would fill the tank rapidly. Position at canopy height or above for effective moisture extraction from the zone where transpiration is highest. The heat output from the dehumidifier is modest but should be factored into your overall temperature management plan. Pair with a RAM or Maxibright circulation fan for even humidity distribution and with an inline extraction fan to manage the slight temperature increase the dehumidifier generates.
