Description
ORA 35 LITRE AIR COOLER is the portable evaporative cooling solution designed for grow rooms, workshops, and indoor spaces where conventional air conditioning is impractical or cost-prohibitive. We have been recommending air cooling solutions to UK growers since 2017 because managing summer temperatures in a sealed growing environment is one of the most common challenges our customers face — and the ORA air cooler provides genuine temperature reduction without the high purchase and running costs of a refrigerant air conditioner.
How Evaporative Cooling Works in a Grow Room
Evaporative coolers work by drawing warm air through a water-saturated pad, where evaporation absorbs heat energy and lowers the air temperature before it is circulated back into the space. The ORA 35-litre tank capacity allows extended operation between refills, and the three-speed fan setting lets you balance cooling output against noise and energy consumption. In UK summer conditions — typically 25–35°C ambient — an evaporative cooler can reduce grow room temperature by 3–6°C, a meaningful reduction that moves plants out of the heat stress zone above 28°C at the canopy. For best results, ensure your extraction system is drawing the cooled air through the canopy actively rather than allowing it to pool at floor level.
Setup and Operational Tips
Position the ORA cooler near the intake area of your growing space so that cooled air enters the room before warming air from lighting can heat it. Add cold water or ice packs to the tank during peak summer heat events for additional temperature reduction. Change the water in the tank every three to four days to prevent bacterial growth in the standing water, and rinse the cooling pads monthly to remove mineral deposits from tap water. For growing environments above 30°C ambient, combine the ORA cooler with increased extraction fan speed and a fogging system to maximise the cooling effect on the canopy microclimate.
Combine the ORA 35 Litre Air Cooler with a digital thermometer-hygrometer and a temperature controller linked to your extraction fan for a fully managed grow room climate system throughout the UK summer.
