ROX 1 Litre is a highly concentrated hydrogen peroxide-based sterilisation and cleaning solution used in grow rooms to disinfect growing equipment, hydroponic systems, and growing media between grow cycles. Why System Sterilisation with ROX Is Critical Between Grows

Root pathogens — particularly Pythium, Fusarium, and the various algae species that colonise nutrient systems — form resilient biofilms and spore structures that survive on the surfaces of reservoirs, pipes, pumps, growing containers, and irrigation components even after thorough rinsing with plain water. These persistent colonies become the inoculum for root rot and disease in the next crop, and because the problem begins invisibly at microscopic scale, growers often don’t realise they have a pathogen carryover issue until root health deteriorates in week 2–3 of the new grow. ROX uses stabilised hydrogen peroxide chemistry to deliver oxygen radicals that break down organic biofilms and kill spores and vegetative cells of a broad range of pathogens on contact. Unlike bleach or quaternary ammonium disinfectants, hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water and oxygen — leaving no toxic residue that could harm plants in the next cycle. This makes it the ideal sterilisation chemistry for grow rooms and hydroponic systems where minimal post-cleaning risk is essential.

How to Use ROX for Effective System Sterilisation

Dilute ROX according to label instructions — typically at 3–5 ml per litre for general disinfection. Flush all system components including reservoir, pipes, pumps, and delivery tubes with the solution, ensuring full contact with all surfaces for a minimum of 15–20 minutes. For heavily contaminated systems with visible algae or slime, increase contact time to 1 hour. Rinse thoroughly with clean water after treatment. Always wear gloves and eye protection when handling concentrated hydrogen peroxide solutions. Store in a cool, dark location away from organic materials that could trigger premature decomposition.
