Description

Tube Standard 13mm Per Metre is flexible black polyethylene irrigation tubing sold by the metre, used as the main supply line in dripper irrigation systems, gravity-fed nutrient delivery setups, and general-purpose liquid transfer in the grow room. The Foundation of Dripper System Infrastructure

13mm (half-inch bore) black poly tube is the standard main supply line diameter in most small-to-medium dripper irrigation systems. This diameter provides sufficient flow capacity for systems supplying up to 8–12 individual dripper emitters at standard 2-litre-per-hour flow rates, while remaining manageable for routing around pots, trays and growing equipment without excessive rigidity or unwieldy handling. The black colouring is important — clear or translucent tubing transmits light into the nutrient solution flowing through it, promoting algae growth inside the pipe that blocks emitters and degrades solution quality over time.

Cutting, Connecting and Maintenance

Cut cleanly with a sharp knife or tube cutter at 90 degrees to the tube axis for the best push-fit connection with barbed fittings. Connect to submersible pump outlets, filter inlets, manifold inlets and other 13mm barbed or push-fit fittings. At end of each growing cycle, flush the tubing thoroughly with clean water and optionally with a sterilisation solution to remove biofilm and mineral deposit build-up from inside the tube.
