Why Quality Fittings Are Critical in AutoPot Systems

The AutoPot system operates entirely on gravity pressure — there is no pump generating force to overcome minor leaks or flow restrictions. This means that every fitting in the system must be perfectly seated and leak-free for the system to deliver consistent nutrient flow to every tray. A cross connector that leaks even slightly will cause the upstream trays to receive less solution than they need, and the dripping from the leak can wet areas outside the trays and introduce humidity and pathogen risks. The new-style AutoPot cross is manufactured to tighter tolerances than earlier versions, with an improved barb profile that grips 9mm supply tube securely and resists pull-out even as the tube flexes and moves during grows. The 16mm inlet accepts the main AutoPot feed line from the reservoir, and the four 9mm outlets allow you to feed up to four growing positions simultaneously from a single cross point.

How to Install the AutoPot 16mm–9mm Cross

Insert the 16mm inlet into your main feed pipe and push fully until the barb is engaged and the pipe cannot pull off. Connect 9mm supply tubes to each of the required outlets, pushing firmly until seated. Route the 9mm tubes to the individual AutoPot trays. Check all connections are secure before filling the reservoir and opening the supply tap. Monitor the first few filling cycles to confirm even distribution across all connected trays and check for any seepage at the cross connector. Replace any fitting that shows signs of leaking rather than attempting to re-seal with tape.
