Description
Grenade is a high-powered insecticidal smoke canister that we have been supplying to UK indoor growers since 2017 for large-scale fumigation of grow rooms, greenhouses and storage areas against flying and crawling insects. The Grenade format delivers a high-volume, dense insecticidal smoke cloud that penetrates throughout the entire treated space — reaching into the deepest canopy zones, growing medium surfaces and structural crevices that contact sprays cannot reliably access. It is designed for situations where pest infestations have spread beyond what targeted sprays can efficiently address.
When to Use a Smoke Canister for Pest Control
Smoke fumigation is most effective as an intensive intervention when pest populations have established across a large area and conventional spray programmes are struggling to maintain control. The physical penetration of insecticidal smoke through a dense canopy is fundamentally superior to spray coverage — smoke particles reach the undersides of every leaf, every stem junction and every soil surface without requiring the operator to move through the growing space applying product manually. The Grenade’s output volume is calibrated for larger growing spaces where smaller smoke bombs would not generate sufficient smoke density for complete coverage. As with all smoke fumigation products, a follow-up application 10–14 days later is required to target insects that have hatched from eggs since the initial treatment, as smoke primarily kills adult and larval stages rather than eggs.
Safe Use Instructions
Remove all people, pets and fish tanks before use. Seal all ventilation openings. Place the Grenade on a heat-resistant surface in the centre of the room, light the fuse, exit and seal. Leave undisturbed for a minimum of 3–4 hours, preferably overnight. Ventilate thoroughly and wait at least 1 hour after ventilating before re-entering. Do not use in flowering rooms if end product quality is a concern. Always read the full product label. Rotate with SB Plant Invigorator and contact sprays such as Dr Hydro Thrips or Spider Mite Spray for a comprehensive IPM programme.
