Description

The Grodan SBS 36 Tray of 77 is a complete commercial slab propagation unit containing 77 individual Grodan Start and Grow 36mm rockwool cubes pre-set in a plastic tray, designed for the rapid, high-density propagation of cuttings and seedlings in professional nursery and serious hobby growing applications. The SBS format positions cubes at the correct spacing and in a standardised tray footprint that is directly compatible with propagation benches, flood and drain trays, and the Grodan slab system into which the rooted cubes are transplanted.

Grodan SBS cubes are a precision-engineered stonewool propagation medium. The mineral fibre structure provides the ideal balance of water holding and air porosity for rapid root initiation — consistently around 70% water retention and 30% air at field capacity when properly saturated. The rigid stonewool structure supports the cutting upright without the staking required for loose media plugs, and allows root penetration in all directions as the cutting develops.

The tray format is a significant practical convenience over loose cubes. The 77 cubes are pre-spaced at appropriate density for the propagation phase, the tray lifts cleanly for watering or inspection without disturbing individual cubes, and the standardised footprint means the tray slots directly into standard propagation benching without rearrangement.
