SHOGUN Sumo Active Boost is a premium biostimulant and flowering enhancer that we have been recommending to UK hydroponic growers since 2017. Formulated by SHOGUN’s in-house research team using a blend of plant hormones, amino acids and kelp-derived bioactive compounds, Sumo Active Boost is specifically designed to maximise flower initiation, increase flower site density and enhance the quality and weight of the final harvest. It occupies a unique position in the SHOGUN range — not a PK booster, but a biological activator that optimises the plant’s own flowering processes from the inside out.

How SHOGUN Sumo Active Boost Enhances Flowering

The core mechanism of Sumo Active Boost centres on its cytokinin and auxin content, derived from premium kelp extract. Cytokinins promote cell division and delay senescence — the natural aging and die-back process that accelerates in late flowering — keeping leaves photosynthetically active for longer and allowing the plant to continue channelling energy into flower development right to the end of the cycle. The amino acid fraction provides immediately available building blocks for protein and enzyme synthesis, reducing the metabolic overhead of nutrient processing and freeing more energy for flower production. Growers using Sumo Active Boost alongside PK Warrior and Zenzyme report measurably denser, more aromatic flowers compared to base nutrient programmes alone.

Application Rate and Compatibility

Apply SHOGUN Sumo Active Boost at 0.5–1 ml per litre from the start of flowering through to flush. It is compatible with all growing media — coco, rockwool, clay pebbles, soil and DWC — and works synergistically with the complete SHOGUN base nutrient range. Do not overdose; Sumo Active Boost is a biostimulant and more is not better — stick to the recommended rate for consistent results. Add to your nutrient solution after base nutrients and before pH adjustment. Combine with SHOGUN PK Warrior 9/18 from mid-flower for a complete late-stage bloom programme.
