Description

Tarantula 1L by Advanced Nutrients is a concentrated beneficial bacterial inoculant delivering a diverse colony of multiple bacterial strains directly to the root zone. Unlike single-strain bacterial products, Tarantula combines numerous scientifically selected species including Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus megaterium, Paenibacillus polymyxa, and several Trichoderma species into a single formulation, creating a broad-spectrum microbial ecosystem in the rhizosphere rather than a monoculture.

This diversity matters because different bacterial strains fulfil different ecological roles: some fix atmospheric nitrogen; others solubilise bound phosphorus; others produce plant hormones including auxins that stimulate root branching; others produce natural antibiotics that suppress harmful pathogens. Together, this community creates a functioning rhizosphere ecosystem that supports both faster plant growth and superior disease resistance.

Tarantula is particularly effective in new or sterile substrates that lack any pre-existing microbial populations. Inoculating from the beginning establishes the beneficial community before pathogens can gain a foothold. Use at 2 ml per litre from root establishment through to mid-flowering, alternating feeds. Avoid mixing with hydrogen peroxide or strong chlorine-based treatments as these will kill the live cultures.
