Rooting Gels and Cloning Solutions
Clonex gel is the most widely trusted rooting gel on the market — a viscous, hormone-containing gel that you apply directly to the freshly cut stem of your clone before inserting into the propagation medium. Its gel consistency keeps it in contact with the cut surface throughout the rooting period, delivering a consistent supply of IBA (Indole-3-Butyric Acid) — a plant auxin that directly stimulates root cell differentiation at the cut site. Applied correctly, Clonex reliably accelerates rooting by 30–50% compared to untreat cuttings.
Rooting powders provide the same active hormones in dry form — useful when the cutting surface would dilute a gel excessively, or when working with large numbers of cuttings quickly. Dip the cut end in water, then into the powder, shaking off the excess before inserting into the propagation medium.
