Plagron Coco Brix uses compressed coco coir that expands to its full usable volume when hydrated — reducing storage volume significantly compared to pre-expanded loose coco and making it practical to stock a useful supply of growing medium without dedicating large storage space. The 6 x 7 litre format provides the 42 litres of prepared coco needed to fill multiple medium-sized pots in a single batch, or to maintain a consistent stock for successive growing cycles without the bulk of large bags of pre-expanded medium.

Plagron processes its coco coir through a thorough washing and buffering programme to remove excess sodium and potassium naturally present in coconut husk fibre, and pre-charges the medium with calcium to prevent the cation exchange-driven deficiencies that can cause problems with unbuffered coco. Starting with correctly prepared, buffered coco means your plants receive properly balanced nutrition from the first feed rather than spending the first week or two of a grow cycle charging an unbuffered medium.

Preparation and Use

To prepare each block, place in a large container and add warm water gradually, allowing the compressed coco to absorb moisture and expand fully. Massage any remaining compressed sections to loosen to a uniform, light texture. Pre-soak in pH-adjusted water (pH 5.8–6.2) before use. Compatible with all coco-specific nutrient programmes and all growing system types including pots, slabs and AutoPot configurations.
