Using separate fans and filters for each space is a simple but expensive and noisy solution. Check all connections for air leaks with the system running, sealing any gaps with duct tape. For best performance in a split-run system, ensure the fan is sized for the combined resistance of both branches — a system with two duct runs will have higher total resistance than a single-branch equivalent and will require a higher-rated fan to maintain the same air exchange rate in each space.
